Hot damn, chirren. The blog circuit Partners In Crime Tours set up for my latest hard-boiled crime thriller just had a whistle stop at the depot of one of Texas’ best book reviewers — Ruthie Jones.
Check out her review pasted immediately below. Then take a gander at the full showcase she provides for THE FATAL SAVING GRACE linked below the review, including the gift card giveaway.
Ruthie’s review:
“When the lead’s about to fly, there’s no time for protocol…”
The Fatal Saving Grace by Jim Nesbitt is a high-stakes, high-octane thriller set in the Wild West Texas landscape, unforgiving and brutal with plenty of places to hide and die.
If you haven’t read any of these Ed Earl Burch novels by Jim Nesbitt, what are you waiting for? All of these books can stand alone. Book 5 here starts off in high gear and does not cool down until the last chapter.
Word of caution, though: This book is not for the weak or the faint of heart. The Fatal Saving Grace is filled with plenty of bloodshed, bullets, cursing, carnage, and sex. No holds barred, and what a fantastic ride all the way through.
Detective Burch is nobody’s fool, and he often runs straight into the action with guns ablazin’, puffing on Lucky Strikes and downing shots of Maker’s Mark. Don’t be fooled, though. Burch can also be a total sweetheart. Just don’t tell him I said that.
“He was a killer with a code, a ruthless gun hand who didn’t hesitate.”
This story is about revenge, money, drugs, and sex. Without giving too much away, The Fatal Saving Grace has plenty of characters and subplots that meld together in shootout after shootout. Nesbitt has crafted quite the storyline that will keep you on your toes and working hard to unravel the threads and keep up with all the action and all the reasons why certain people want other certain people to get dead and stay dead. Who will be left standing is anyone’s guess.
“Luck’s got nothin’ to do with it.”
If you are in the mood for an abrasive Texas thriller with a main character filled with attitude and grit, then The Fatal Saving Grace (all the Ed Earl Burch novels, actually) is the perfect choice. Trust me, when the last chapter is over, you are definitely going to want more.
